Submissions

Do you care about the natural world? Do you care about preserving the best of our culture? Do you want to make a difference? Do you want to reach an audience of over 5,000 people annually who will be inspired by your story?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you should be submitting your story to Mark All My Words.

Requirements:

Submissions should be 500-3000 words in length, original, and previously unpublished. Style should be first-person and narrative, with occasional pertinent digressions. Genre should be nonfiction travel, memoir, nature, philosophy, or some compelling combination thereof.

Acceptance:

If your story is accepted for publication, you will be informed promptly (usually within two weeks) and will be notified of any edits which may be necessary. You will be asked to supply accompanying photos, links, or videos for your story at that time. Upon publication, your story will receive front-page coverage for at least two weeks, during which time viewers of Mark All My Words will be directed to your website (if you choose to share it) and will be made aware of your authorial contribution.

Compensation:

At this point, Mark All My Words is an entirely volunteer, nonprofit endeavor and as such is not in a position to offer monetary compensation for published submissions. However, because of this, there will be much greater likelihood that your story will be published, so long as it adheres to the stipulated guidelines, and there will be no conditions attached to your subsequent use and distribution of the story, in the near or long term.

However, if your story is accepted for publication, you will be informed by email and asked to send an attachment in .doc or .rtf format.)
